The new Education/Conference Center on the Premier Alliances Campus in Bisbee was the site of specialized training for regional first responders last week.

About 50 emergency medical professionals converged on the new meeting space on Friday for the annual Airways Lab training event, including emergency medical technicians from area fire departments, members of the AirEvac Lifeteam, and Carondelet Health Network.

Hosted by the Bisbee Fire Department and led by Dr. Julie Brown of the Copper Queen Community Hospital, the training was divided between classroom lectures and hands-on training focused on keeping airways open during emergency situations and is a continuing education requirement for all EMTs.
