On a recent Saturday morning, members of the Sierra Vista Sunrise Rotary Club completed the installation of two new large pieces of playground equipment, as well as a sand box, at Carmichael Elementary School. The equipment was purchased with grant funds raised by the Rotary Club, as well as a $500 donation from Premier Alliances.
The equipment will be used by Carmichael’s special education students.
In an article about the effort, Rotary member Eva Dickerson said the playground will help the students release extra energy.
“By channeling that energy, they can better focus on their lessons in class,” she said. “When the need for this new playground space and the benefits to the students was explained to our Sunrise Rotary Club, we coordinated with Principal Michelle Wambach and her staff to make sure that the physical needs of the students could be met. We thank Premier Alliances for partnering with us on this project.”
