BISBEE — Another development in the ongoing partnership between Premier Alliances, Inc. and the Copper Queen Community Hospital occurred on Friday with the donation of a diesel generator to the hospital.
Knowing the important role that the hospital plays in the Bisbee community, John Charley, CEO of Premier Alliances, Inc., reached out to Copper Queen Hospital CEO Robert Seamon about gifting the generator to the health care facility.
“Premier Alliances recognizes that not only is the Copper Queen Hospital a cornerstone of this community, but it is an important partner of our own as we continue our mission of improving the lives of people with additional needs,” Charley said.
The generator was originally installed as part of the development of the Premier Alliances campus on Naco Highway in 2010, and was designed to provide emergency power to what was then the residential building and has rarely been used apart from regular maintenance. Premier Alliances discontinued its residential program several years ago.
Staff from the hospital led a small team in removing the generator from the Premier Alliances campus Friday morning. Following retrofitting efforts in Tucson, the generator will serve as a mobile emergency energy unit for the hospital.
“We are touched by the generator donation from Premier Alliances,” Seamon said. “The generator is portable and will be useful at all of our facilities. ”
Premier Alliances, Inc. has been supporting individuals with disabilities for more than 50 years. Based in Bisbee, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit focuses on creating partnerships for a more inclusive community, while also providing employment opportunities and advocating for individuals with additional needs.
